Insignias? Do you mean inscriptions? In any case, you cannot salvage the 5 defense armor given to your character when he/she is first created. Any armor you purchase can be salvaged for runes/materials, however. Collector armor, like collector weapons, cannot be salvaged.

No dude, Insignias; the mods for armor in Nightfall. They sell them at the rune trader but never have any Necro insignias in stock, so I was hoping to corner the market.

Probably not. Since insignias and inscriptions are Nightfall only, I doubt you can salvage them from crafted armor from the other two games.

If they're unlocked the same way I unlocked some insignas, it's through enemy drops; usually capes, armor and other vestments dropped by them. Then you salvage.

What I'm more interested in is can you upgrade Factions, Prophecies, and Obsidian armors with Insignias, or are they limited to NF. Can I put Insigias on my Fissure I bought 1 year ago is my real question.

They are limited to NF armor only (and your hero)

Well, I think they should allow modding of old armors. It only makes sense.
